International Copper Association China

The International Copper Association China (ICA China) is the leading organization in charge of the implementation of the APQI project. Its role in the project includes project coordination and management, and implementation of all the activities in China. ICA China is a leading non-profit organization in China that promotes energy efficiency and power quality, among others. It has organized several training workshops and seminars as well as publishes and distributed a magazine on power quality. ICA China has been promoting power quality since 2003 through organization of training workshops, seminars, publication and distribution of a magazine on power quality, as well as the development of a powerful e-learning software on power quality. ICA China has a strong presence in China and has developed strong privileged links with key government agencies in the energy sector.

The University of Bergamo, Italy

The University of Bergamo, Italy, will provide technical support to the project for the development of the training tools (e-learning software, power quality knowledge centre, etc.) and support the training activities to be implemented during the project. The Power Systems Engineering group has been active in the scientific and technical fields of power quality and electromagnetic compatibility issues since 1995 and provides training to support firms through processes of change management with activities aimed at the professional development of key personnel. With specific reference to Power Quality, The University of Bergamo has contributed as core partner to both Leonardo Power Quality Initiative (LPQI) and Leonardo Power Quality Initiative - Vocational Education System (LPQI-VES) co-financed by European Commission under Leonardo da Vinci European Union Programme.

European Copper Institute (Belgium)


Leonardo Power Quality Initiative

The European Copper Institute (Belgium) has founded and coordinated Leonardo Power Quality Initiative (LPQI), with 100 other European authorities (academics, industry, professional body). Through LPQI a 3-million euro project, funded over three years, ECI and its partners have developed and implemented a range of training materials and programs aimed at decision makers, consulting engineers, electrical contractors, facility managers, finance professionals and maintenance managers covering all aspects of Power Quality, EMC and Electrical Energy utilization in electrical installations. The objective of LPQI is to increase understanding of the origin, problems, diagnosis and solutions relating to Power Quality (PQ) in tertiary buildings and industrial premises. In the context of the Intergovernmental Conference on "Strengthening European Cooperation in Vocational Education and Training¡±, held in Maastricht Dec 14-16, 2004, LPQI has won a Leonardo da Vinci Award for quality and innovation in training professionals in the electricity sector. LPQI reaches 100000 professionals each year.

International Copper Promotion Council (India)

The International Copper Promotion Council (India) is part of the International Copper Association global network. ICPCI coordinates all APQI activities to be implemented in India. ICPCI has conducted over 10 seminars on power quality in India since its creation, including 2 seminars in 2006.

Electrical and Electronics Institute (Thailand)

The Electrical and Electronics Institute (Thailand) is very active in Thailand in promoting compliance of electrical and electronics equipment with international quality standards, including European standards. It has a testing laboratory and has implemented several European Commission funded projects on compliance with European standards. EEI is in direct link with the electrical and electronics manufacturing industry.
