Report on the National Seminar of ¡°Power Quality Promotion Alliance¡± ¨CWuhan Stop

        On November 21st 2008, the 6th stop of the 2008 National Seminars of ¡°Power Quality Promotion Alliance¡± was held in Wuhan, Hubei province. This seminar on power quality not only brought rich expertise, knowledge and applied technologies to the local electrical engineers, but also highlighted the Alliance's closeness to the customers in this industry and its commitment to disseminate knowledge on power quality. Experts and heads at ICA Shanghai Office, Schneider Electric (China) Investment Co., Ltd., US Ideal Industries Inc., Xi'an Saibo Electric Co., Ltd. And major electrical designing institutions in Wuhan attended this seminar and delivered reports on power quality. This seminar attracted over 130 customers from the local electrical designing institutions, power industry and infrastructure construction industry, where the participants shared systematic knowledge, products and solution experience on power quality brought by power quality experts.



        Huang Wei, project manager at ICA Shanghai Office addressed the opening ceremony, ¡°Power quality industry is a very important market and is of great strategic significance for the entire business for ICA. ICA, in a parternership with Schneider Electric and US Fluke, has set up the ¡°Power Quality Promotion Alliance¡±, in an effort to promote the concept of power quality, to jointly disseminate power quality maintenance, and to improve electrical engineers' capability in terms of power quality. During the one year since the setup of Power Quality Promotion Alliance in 2007, we have held seminars on power quality in several cities, and have received warm feedback from local power quality professionals and electrical engineers. I believe that in the coming new year, the Power Quality Promotion Alliance will push our work to a new high.¡±

     This seminar covered such contents as the concept, dangers and principles of power quality, as well as reactive power compensation and power quality standard. Schneider Electric, US Ideal and Xi'an Saibo also introduced power quality measurement technologies and products, as well as treatment and other solutions for power quality, while local experts gave detailed accounts of power quality technologies. This seminar met the Objective of introducing power quality knowledge to workers in related fields in China, letting more people realize the problems associated with power quality and the measures and experience necessary to redress those problems, as well as promptly delivering the latest power quality information to relevant personnel. In the seminar, the participants actively asked questions to which the speakers answered patiently, while experts gave detailed guidance on technologies.



        The Power Quality Promotion Alliance hopes that this joint promotion activity would promote China's electrical personnel's knowledge on power quality, thus closing the gap with developed countries on power quality achievement, and helping to improving our work and living quality. This Alliance will hold similar activities in Fuzhou at the end of this year, and we are looking forward to your participation! We hope that this will mark as a successful end to the eventful year of 2008.
